If you have been injured in a transport accident, medical costs relating to the accident may be paid for by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC). The TAC pays for a range of medical treatment – including physiotherapy – that is needed due to an injury suffered in a transport accident.
The TAC will cover all reasonable costs for physiotherapy after the patient has met one of the following conditions:
- The out-of-pocket threshold has been met
- You have had an admission to hospital due to the transport accident
Approval for TAC funded physiotherapy must be sought by us via a Treatment Notification Plan (TNP). After receiving the treatment request, the TAC follows an approval process before approving/rejecting the proposed physiotherapy treatment plan.
If approval is given, the TAC stipulates the number and type of treatments they deem appropriate for your recovery and rehabilitation within a given timeframe.
